Measuring Guide
Curtains:
Choose your design.
The failsafe way is to install a track or pole first.
Make sure you have carpets or flooring in place before you measure.
To measure the width:
If you have a pole, measure excluding the finials (decorative ends of poles).
If you have a track, measure the maximum length of the track including any returns or overlaps.
To measure the drop (length):
Choose between the following options: full length to floor/sill length/below sill length.
Your measurement should be the drop from the eye of the ring or the eye of the track, to required length - do not include the fabric heading (the section above the hooks) in your measurements.
We recommend adding 1cm in length for curtains to break on the floor.
Measure both sides of the window and if the floor is uneven, take the longer length.
Roman Blinds
Inside the window recess :
The blind will be fixed directly onto the wall, ceiling or outside of the window frame. The blind will be made to the exact dimensions given. The drop is normally the measurement to your sill.
Outside the window recess :
The blind goes into a recess frame or architrave.
When measuring allow for clearance - for roman blinds 5mm less each side of the width, Then check for any discrepancies in width and length on each side. The drop is normally the measurement to your sill.
*Important
It's important that you carefully measure your windows to ensure your curtains fit correctly. If you are in any doubt, please be sure to check again. By supplying these measurements you take full responsibility for the finished size of your curtains.
